Sister-in-law & Little Dude.

It has taken me waaay to long to post this, but here are some photos I took of my sister-in-law, Nicole, and nephew, Corbin.  Being that I am a stay at home mom, my son, Morris is bound to walk into some of the pictures.  :)

Summers End.

The cool breeze and temperatures dropping always put me in a good mood.  I find myself cooking more "homey" meals.  & Oh, the comfort I feel in putting on a cardigan to sit outside.  As a family, we have definitely been out to enjoy the last unpredictable days of warm temperatures.

Here are some looks into our past week...
...as always listening to records is a daily part of our lives, but as the degrees drop our urge to listen to records grows stronger.

One Year of Marriage.

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Most years we say "This year has flown by!"  Strangely this was not the case with this past year, it has been a year that has dragged, filled with many overwhelming emotions and many sad moments and joyful moments.  Luckily, the joyful moments have a way of overshadowing the difficult ones, and I owe a lot of those joyful moments to the love of my life and my best friend.  In relationships we take care of each other, I would like to say that in our case it's a 50/50 split, but in this past year he definitely has done most of the taking care of, and I'm reminded most everyday that I, without a doubt, chose the right person to spend the rest of my life with.

Kyle & I took a trip to Geneva, IL to celebrate our one year anniversary.  It was the first time in over a year where we got to spend 24 hours of couple time!  It was pretty fantastic.  Here are some bits and pieces of our weekend.

First we went to lunch at Preservation Bread & Wine.  We enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and a couple small plates, including this fantastic "Mushroom Tart."

After walking in town for a short period of time we ventured off for a short walk on the Fox River Trail.

We then checked into our room at The Herrington Inn and relaxed around there for a while.

Now for the real reason we came to Geneva, Bien Trucha, one of the most delicious places I have ever eaten.  If you ever the the chance to go, I would highly recommend it.  Not a lot of pictures, just a whole lot of eating and enjoying delicious cocktails.
