A golden autumn evening

After doing a family shoot earlier in the day yesterday, I had realized that I had lost my lens cap somewhere along the trail.  I went back with my family to find it in the evening and the preserve almost looked enchanted.

These are my ladies.  The ladies that I go on the most adventures with.  The ladies that I could write enough stories about to fill a book with.  The ladies that have been my family for a long while.

After so much going on for the past several days this was our, um, winding down night.  So, a lot of it was spent in our pretty spectacular motel room.

A very short morning was spent in Santa Fe, because we had a long drive ahead of us.  So we walked around downtown a bit, grabbed some breakfast and checked out the Native American Vendors program, which Krissy bought a necklace at.

Taos, NM

Ahhhh, Taos, New Mexico.... I have been dreaming of this place since I left it.
I have never been anywhere that I have felt such a connection to like I did here.
Something about the desert plant life, and then only a short drive to the lush and green Carson National Forest.

We stayed at a hostel called "The Abonimable Snowmansion" in Arroyo Seco, which is a teeny little town near Taos.  Such a neat place, with such nice people running it.  The grounds of the hostel were very pretty, so we grabbed a bottle of wine and explored.

We then walked through the small town of Arroyo Seco before heading to Taos for dinner at "Love Apple."

The next morning to grabbed some croissants at "Dragonfly Cafe" and then headed to the Carson National Forest were we had a ski-lift adventure.

One last photo-op on the side of the road on our way out of Taos.
