It was one of those weekends where being indoors left me feeling very restless. So, after being guests of a beautiful wedding on Friday evening, both Saturday and Sunday I was sure to push my husband and little one out the door for some quality family time in nature. We are fortunate to live a minute away from a beautiful forest preserve in our home town of Byron, IL. We set out on a trail that said it was one mile, but as with a lot of trails, if you don't read the maps and you turn in all the wrong places it becomes much longer than that. This was the case for us, but we did not mind a bit. It was such a beautiful, sunny, and breezy day.
Sunday I wanted to see a body of water, so we drove to the coast of Lake Michigan at Illinois Beach State Park in Zion, IL.
